Future leaders .. Lack of preparation

In light of this mentality of slavery and inferiority, accompanied by a complete absence of future vision and real strategic goals, how can we promise or expect the existence of our future leaders and create the conditions to prepare a generation of talented and strong youth to lead the nation in the next stage?

The meaning of leadership:

Leadership is short: the ability to move people towards the goal, it consists of three elements

1 - the presence of a goal to move people to it.

2 - The presence of a group of individuals driven by this leader.

3 - The presence of a leader who has special abilities and makes it in the molds of practical affect people.

Although there is no agreed definition among scholars of leadership, the definition we have mentioned is sufficient and adequate, but the tragedy lies when there is no goal at all in the nation !! How can it move towards its goal and how can one lead it towards the unknown?

The difference between leadership and management:

Many people confuse management with leadership and despite the importance of each of them and their similarity to a large extent, but there is a fundamental difference between them. Leadership focuses on human relations and cares about the future. And relationships).

While management focuses on achievement and performance at present, it is concerned with standards and problem solving and attention to regulations and systems in short (management = achievement now)

You see that both are important and complement each other, but there is no doubt that leadership is more sensitive and rarer.

Manifestations and reasons for the absence of leaders:

We do not accuse official and governmental institutions and hold them solely responsible for the lack of leadership among young people and people in general. We do not pretend that they alone can create leaders through their institutions and schools if they are well exploited, but society in all its components should participate in this industry (leader industry) starting from parents and passing through Teachers and scientists and then comes the role of the state to nurture and refine these talents and give them the opportunity to experience and training.

Among the reasons that helped in the absence of leadership spirit:

1 - educational sediments and wrong ways in the upbringing of children where the repression of children and the questioning and exploration and the spirit of adventure and initiative have led to the creation of a psychological barrier fatal that they should receive orders and do nothing of themselves.

2 - negligence and administrative idleness in addition to the killer routine which led to suppress the leadership spirit of individuals

3 - the absence of the role of scholars and mentors as well as the role of real teachers in the education of souls, guidance and preparation for the future.

4 - The lack of opportunity for young people and adolescents to take charge of their own affairs and to undertake some private work, which strengthens the spirit of leadership and competition.

5 - The lack of sufficient centers for the development of talent and leadership spirit adequately, and although we are beginning to notice new efforts in this area, but they are still in its infancy and need development and deployment, perhaps a good sign and a new bright page, we have been a contribution in this area and a clear vision for years Pioneers for training and qualifying young people for leadership in partnership with the International Islamic Charitable Organization in Kuwait, which was one of the first experiences in the establishment of Arab centers for the rehabilitation of leaders).

6 - Fear of giving young people any opportunity in decision-making, whether at the family, social or political level for fear of failure, note that studies show that the young man who is given a chance at a young age to experience even if a mistake is better able to lead and decision-making who did not give a chance in Its smallness.

7- The spread of a culture of negativity in all aspects of life. And so everyone does not want to carry himself any burden or commitment.

8 - Absence or weakness of material and moral encouragement of youth initiatives and creativity.
Can we make leaders?

This question is sometimes asked: Can you learn to drive? As we talk about the preparation and discovery of future leaders, we put it in the previous formula.

To answer this question, I answer based on my personal experience in managing the Pioneers Center for Youth Leadership Training, in addition to training more than 60 thousand trainees.

2% of the people are born leaders innate and do not need external assistance and we may find in our history examples such as Khalid bin Walid and Amr ibn al-Aas may Allah be pleased with them (says Omar may Allah be pleased with him: Amr should not walk on the ground only a prince)

There are also 2% of people who are not fit for leadership, either because of weakness in personality or psychological or physical or intellectual disability, as the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said to Abu Dharr (may you be weak). He is the prince and not you, with that Abu Dhar from the highest companions place and virtue.

The rest, about 96% of people, are able to become leaders if they are adequately trained and experienced.

If we can contribute to the making of future leaders by giving the opportunity and participation and the selection of talented and distinguished and creative and develop plans and centers for this purpose and overcome our crisis in the absence of preparation and discovery of future leaders.

We do not want to pre-empt things and talk about how to prepare leaders.This is another topic we are talking about, God willing, when we talk about the desired dream.But now we just wanted to talk about this crisis because leadership is an important issue that concerns the destinies of nations and depends on their goals and achieve those goals.

I would like to emphasize that I am not only talking about the crisis in preparing political leaders (albeit the clearest and most influential), but I am talking about leaders in the fields of economics, administration, education, health, society and all aspects of life.The leadership is indispensable in any field.

But we want to clarify one thing before we conclude our article, which is that when we talk about the leaders, we do not devote the illusion of some waiting for the faithful leader and the savior that we are waiting to come and save us from our crises and problems and change our weakness strength and humiliation attributed, the future.
